OUR STORY
oEnergy was born in 2013 with just two people as a family start-up. With two more partners on board, it has transformed into a company with more than 200 collaborators in less than a decade. Now it is positioned as one of the leading actors in the Chilean energy market in the Distributed Energy Resources segment.
2013
oEnergy was born to explore business opportunities in the NCRE market. During its first year, the founding partners studied and evaluated the feasibility of projects of various technologies and sizes.
Collaborators: 2
2014
oEnergy installed its first 30kW Net Billing solar project, cementing its focus on solar technology and small and medium-scale projects.
Collaborators: 4
2015
oEnergy formed a joint venture with the German company Sybac to develop 36MW of solar energy PMGD (Small-scale Distributed Generation). Thus, we positioned ourselves as a developer of this type of project early on in the Chilean market.
Collaborators: 7
2017
oEnergy was awarded the construction of 21 MW in solar PGMDs and created a Construction Company (Constructora oEnergy). Thus, we began our trajectory as EPC experts specializing in this type of project.
Collaborators: 75
2018
oEnergy was awarded the first contracts to operate and maintain 10 PMGD solar plants. The oEnergy subsidiary O&M was set up to provide first-class services with state-of-the-art technology.
Collaborators: 85
2019
oEnergy invested its own venture capital for the development of 300 MW of PMGD projects.
Collaborators: 110
2020
oEnergy signed a joint venture with the German company Blue Elephant Energy to build and operate a 113 MW portfolio of PMGDs. In addition, we secured project financing from the German bank DEG (KFW). oEnergy became, for the first time, an Independent Power Producer (IPP).
Collaborators: 125
2021
oEnergy consolidated its position as an IPP by obtaining senior subordinated financing from the Corporación Interamericana para el Financiamiento de Infraestructura (CIFI, InterAmerican Corporation for Finance and Infrastructure) to build and operate 70MW of self-owned PMGDs.
Collaborators: 135
2022
oEnergy extended its own venture capital to develop 3 GW of large-scale stand- alone BESS projects and 600 MW of hybrid PMGDs (PFV + BESS).
Collaborators: 170
2023
oEnergy inaugurated its first hybrid PMGD project (PFV+BESS) of 1.5 MW//2 MW per hour. Thus, we consolidated our position as one of the leading developers, constructors, and operators in the Chilean PMGD industry.
Collaborators: 200
